Kate Thornborough
Dr. Kate Thornborough is a marine scientist with over 13 years of experience developing practical, science-based tools for environmental assessment, monitoring, and management. She has led the creation of decision-support frameworks, including threat and risk assessments, cumulative impact assessments, indicator frameworks, monitoring strategies, and geospatial databases. Her work reflects a structured, transparent, and adaptive management approach.
As Coordinator of the NSW Marine Integrated Monitoring Program, she manages a multi-agency initiative, guiding resourcing, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. Her technical skills span statistical analysis, data management, field design, and policy evaluation. Past roles include work with government, research, and conservation organisations across Australia and Canada.
